One of my favorite exercises was when we had to imagine ourselves in someone's garbage can... who thinks about that...ever.
It was weird to place myself in a garbage can, but once I did I really got a sense of it. I was a garbage man for a summer so I can really can picture some sick stuff. A typical garbage consisted of coffee grounds...pounds of used coffee grounds!.. thats a good song title.

What a good student I am...
I'm going to be honest. I didn't know we were supposed to be blogging this entire time...I thought it was only for assignments. Well you are going to see like 3 posts every day from now on.
On the note that I am apparently not paying attention enough; this is probably the only class this semester that I actually enjoy gettting up and going to. And thats thanks to everyone. Because I feel we all connect once we get into our donut shape. . . I want a donut.

over and over, again and again
So this may be non schoolastic or whatever, but it makes me feel like an observer. I have been tallying up phrases overused by my instructors. Only two of my instructors actually. I won't say who they are, but if you have them as a teacher you may be able to figure out who they are.
anonymous teacher #1: used the phrase "shall we say" 31 times in one class period. Don't you notice that?
anonymous teacher #2: uses the following phrases at least 4 times a piece EACH CLASS:
"the other aspect of this is..."
"this is what were dealing with HERE"
"this is what were talking about HERE"
"the fact of the matter is..."
"go ahead and..."
I can't concentrate in these classes!!

self reflection
I didn't really change much of my writing at all. I like the raw and on the spot writing we do in class and changing it just doesn't seem right to me. I do believe I changed one introductory word in one of my pieces, but that is all. Boosha!
three of three pieces
This woman seemed like the cleanly type...before I hopped into her garbage can. She must have just cleaned her refridgerator. Moldy beans and stinky cheese. Coffee grounds, the majority...and she doesn't recycle!
two of three pieces
Grins on their faces that would make clowns look sad. But they begin to grow bored of their current location, and allow there eye-balls to roll to another and stumble upon a door to the outside world.
one of three pieces
Slow-paced and enjoying our first walk in the woods together. Where the earth tones have become warm. So warm they have to descend. Slowly, hundreds of autumn leaves repel on the chilled ground. Covering all that is dirty brown.
